He has been creating films since the age of 10 when he first grabbed his father's handheld video camera. At the age of 13 he created a "Lord of the Rings" parody that won the El Paso Community College's Youth Art's Festival in 1st place. At that point in his life, he decided he wanted to write and direct for a living. He continued to make short films with his friends and write a science fiction universe in a comic book format. He attended Vanguard University of Southern California in Costa Mesa, California, with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication. Arturo directed a few short films and then continued to work outside as an editor for commercials after he had graduated. Arturo proceeded to earn his Master's Degree in Filmmaking and enter his short film "Aero" into several film festivals earning the "Gold Remi Award" at Houston Worldfest International Film Festival and Best Science Fiction Short in others. He then worked on a prequel animation series to "Aero" called "Aero: Origins." The animated web series won Best of Festival at Palm Springs Comic Con and screened at other Comic Cons across the country. Arturo worked then finished a comic book as a sequel to the series titled "Psychic Warriors: Rising" and then distributed it to select comic book stores. For Arturo's next film, he took a different direction outside of his sci-fi universe, writing and directing "Rescatado": a short film with the inspiration of comic book super heroes, to raise awareness on bullying and domestic violence. The film is intended to remind everyone that an ordinarily kid isn't too small or weak to stand up for him/herself. Arturo hopes to screen "Rescatado" across the globe.
